Our mission

Our mission is to support companies with powerful, customizable and intuitive HR software solutions. As an owner-managed company with two managing directors and a multicultural team of around 25 dedicated employees, we focus on genuine partnership.

Our software is technically highly complex and powerful in the background - and this is precisely what gives us maximum flexibility. Nothing seems impossible to us: we find the right solution for every challenge. At the same time, we know how to make these complex processes simple and intuitive for the end user so that they have an uncomplicated and efficient experience.

1998
Foundation of Fiala + Povysil OEG

Michael Fiala and Fritz Povysil found the company and develop the first prototype of Webdesk with Lotus Notes Native.

1999
Foundation of Workflow EDV GmbH

Workflow EDV GmbH is founded and the development of Webdesk Version 2 is started. The first customers are acquired in the DACH region.

2001
Entry by Gabriel Gruber

The company is expanding its team with Gabriel Gruber in order to drive forward the company's development.

2002
Entry by Gregor Gutzelnig

Gregor Gutzelnig joins the company. Webdesk V2 is rolled out to large companies in the DACH region. Travel expense and project time modules are added to the product range.

2004
Development of the multi-user framework

Webdesk is being further developed as a multi-user framework based on Java and open source technologies. This development forms the basis for today's product.

2006
First trade fair appearances together with partners in Austria

Workflow EDV GmbH is appearing at trade fairs in Austria together with partners for the first time to present its solutions to a broad public.

2008
Cooperation with IAESTE

The successful partnership with IAESTE in the international student exchange program begins.

2010
Focus on human resources

The company is shifting its focus to the area of human resources in order to specifically address the needs of the market in the HR sector.

2012
Start of in-house development of HR-Expert module

With the introduction of the “HR-Expert” personnel management module, the company is expanding its product portfolio and providing a comprehensive solution for personnel processes.

2014
Launch of the “Personalwolke” cloud solution

After an intensive test and pilot phase, the “Personalwolke” cloud solution is officially launched, marking another milestone in the company's development.

2014
Internationalization of product development

Product development is switched to English. Developers from 25 nations now work at Workflow. The company is also switching to agile methods (Scrum).

2015
Site expansion to Upper Austria

The expansion continues: a new office is opened in Upper Austria to strengthen the regional presence and further promote the company's growth.

2016
Launch of the Responsive Skin and Payroll Service Module

Webdesk UI becomes responsive and is now functional on smartphone, tablet and desktop. The payroll module is developed together with a large tax consultancy firm.

2017
Relocation to the modern office in Vienna at EUROPLAZA

The company moves into a modern office at EUROPLAZA. The new office is flooded with light and a place to feel at home.

2019
Receipt of the Technology Excellence Award

As part of the PUR HR 2019 study, Workflow HR Systems was honored with the “Technology Excellence Award” in the time recording category.

2019
Kiosk/terminal for time recording

It will be possible to carry out time recording and project time recording via kiosk or terminal bookings using NFC media.

2020
Introduction of webinars and switch to home office

The company is introducing free webinars for customers to cover current functions and questions about the personnel cloud.

Sales partnership with onlyfy

Workflow HR Systems enters into a sales partnership with onlyfy to expand its product portfolio with an applicant management tool.

First trade fair appearances in Germany

The company takes part in trade fairs in Germany for the first time to present its solutions for digital time recording and other HR products to a wider audience.

Workflow EDV GmbH becomes Workflow HR Systems GmbH

Sales partnership with Count IT

In 2022, we will enter into a sales partnership with Count IT to make our solutions available to a broader customer base.

Partnership with admin iq

In 2022, a partnership and participation will be concluded with admin iq.

Sales partnership with Hansalog Group

The sales partnership will be concluded with the Hansalog Group from Germany in order to further expand its presence on international markets.

Expansion of NFC compatibility

Since 2024, time recording has also been possible with Legic and HITAG media, further increasing the flexibility and range of the solutions.

Relauch of Personalwolke marketing including new website

The marketing for the cloud solution “Personalwolke” is realigned, accompanied by a comprehensive overhaul of the website.
